Chemical resistance and characteristics

Main Features

The PP is very strong in chemistry, process, and cost. It is also very relevant for parts with living hinges or those subjected to repeated bending, thanks to its fatigue resistance.

Chemical resistance

<

Its main limitations concern strong inorganic acids, certain powerful oxidising agents, and several aggressive solvents. The final resistance also depends on the thickness, mechanical stresses, temperature, and processing conditions. In simple terms: PP is excellent in general chemistry, but it should not be presented as universal when faced with strongly oxidising or very harsh environments.

Frequently asked questions

Introduction

Il est apprécié pour sa lightness, to good chemical resistance, to moisture resistance and above all its very good resistance to fatigue, which makes it a benchmark material for common parts.
