Frequently asked questions
Injection at 310–360 °C, mould at 120–160 °C. Pre-drying: 4–6 hours at 150 °C. Abrasive material → wear on tools and moulds. Good flow properties. Anisotropic shrinkage (0.5–1.5 %) depending on fibre orientation.
PPS is difficult to recycle due to its high processing temperature and aromatic structure. Industrial recovery programmes exist from manufacturers. Not suitable for consumer recycling.
PPS is generally not certified for food contact. For high-temperature food contact, PEEK or PEI are preferred.
