Frequently asked questions
Injection at 210–250 °C, mould at 40–80 °C. Recommended pre-drying: 4 hours at 80 °C. Good flow properties. Moderate shrinkage (0.9–2.0 %). Less hygroscopic than PA6 → better dimensional stability after moulding.
PA12 is recyclable. In selective laser sintering (SLS), used powders can be recycled up to 30–50%. Mechanical recycling is possible for injection-moulded parts.
PA12 grades are approved for food contact (FDA 21 CFR, EU Regulation 10/2011). Verify the compliance of the specific grade with the food type and temperature.
