Material test table

Two-component plastic injection moulding, also known as bi-injection or 2K injection, is a manufacturing technique that combines two different polymers into a single part in one production cycle.

Chemical adhesion or mechanical interlocking

Two mechanisms ensure the joining of materials in bi-injection.

Chemical bonding (molecular bonding)Material A (PP, PA, PC...)Compatible Subject B (TPE-V, TPE-E, TPU...)✓ Geometric relief-free bondingCompatible materials: PP+TPE-V, PA+TPE-E, PC+TPU, ABS+TPUMechanical latch (geometric retention)Material A (with anchor grooves)Material B (geometrically locked)✓ Bonding without chemical compatibilitySolution: slots, dovetails, anchor holes
