Frequently asked questions
Injection at 320–360 °C, mould at 100–150 °C. Pre-drying required: 6–8 hours at 120 °C. Very high viscosity. Requires high-performance injection moulding machines and heat-treated steel moulds. Low shrinkage (0.4–0.8%) due to the reinforcing fibres.
PPA is difficult to recycle due to its aromatic structure and high processing temperatures. Take-back schemes are available from some manufacturers. Not intended for consumer recycling.
PPA is not suitable for food applications. Its high processing temperature and special additives make it suitable for high-performance technical applications.
