Injection at 200–260 °C, mould at 20–80 °C. Excellent flow properties, suitable for complex thin-walled parts. Significant shrinkage (1.0–2.5 %) must be taken into account during mould design. No pre-drying required. Take care to prevent warping of flat parts.
PP (code 5) is recyclable. Recycling streams exist for food packaging, the automotive industry, and general industry. The quality of recycled pellets is sufficient for many applications.
PP is among the most widely used food contact materials (FDA, EU Regulation 10/2011). Approved for all types of food including fatty and acidic foods. Resistant to steam sterilisation (PP random copolymer).
