Frequently asked questions
CF grades require slightly higher temperatures and pressures. Very abrasive → carbide tooling is mandatory. Almost isotropic shrinkage is very low. Electrical conductivity must be taken into account in the design of parts.
PA66 is recyclable. Depolymerisation into hexamethylenediamine and adipic acid is industrially feasible. Mechanical recycling is used for automotive production waste.
PA66 can be approved for food contact for specific grades, but applications remain limited. Prefer PA6-FDA for common food applications.
