Frequently asked questions
GF grades require higher injection pressures. Strongly anisotropic shrinkage (perpendicular to fibres > along axis). Increased nozzle and mould wear — nitrided steels recommended. Drying identical to base grade.
PBT is a recyclable thermoplastic. Its recycling is common in the electronics industry (WEEE). Post-consumer recycled grades are available for non-critical applications.
Standard PBT is not certified for food contact. For food applications, prefer PP, PE, PETG, or POM-FDA.
