Injection between 265–290 °C, mould at 10–30 °C (amorphous) or 130–150 °C (semi-crystalline). Pre-drying imperative: 4–6 h at 160 °C. Highly hygroscopic → hydrolytic degradation if damp.
PET (code 1) is the most widely recycled plastic in the world. Well-established recycling processes enable the production of food-grade r-PET for bottles, textile fibres and engineering components. The target is 90% collection in the EU by 2029.
PET is the standard for food packaging (FDA, EFSA, EU Regulation 10/2011). Approved for all types of food, including carbonated drinks, oils, and acidic foods. Recycled r-PET can be certified food-grade after approved decontamination.
