Many customers ask us if we can use bio-based plastics or recycled plastic materials<\/strong> in our productions. Obviously, the answer is YES! <\/strong>
However, there are several ways to make recycled plastic products.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Recycled plastics, recyclable plastics, bio-based plastics, or biodegradable plastics \u2013 Let's get the facts straight!<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

There is a very large variability in the recycling rate of plastics by country, but especially by family of plastics. Indeed, 7 families of recycling exist for plastics:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

  1. PET<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
  2. HDPE<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
  3. PVC<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
  4. LDPE<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
  5. PP<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
  6. EPS<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
  7. OTHER<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    You will therefore have already understood that \u00abexotic\u00bb bio-based plastics are already classified in \u00abOTHER\u00bb, Biobased plastics are not automatically recyclable<\/strong> ! and the plastics<\/strong> Biobased products are not automatically biodegradable!<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    On the other hand, plastics<\/strong> recycled are necessarily recyclable<\/strong> (QED), but the reverse isn't really true (at least, not in practice!)<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    The subjects such as ABS<\/a>, The PC (Polycarbonate)<\/a>, PU (Polyurethanes), PA (Polyamides)<\/a>, are also returned to the \u00abOTHER\u00bb segment\u00bb<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    This doesn't mean they aren't recyclable plastics\u2026 the proof is that we make products from these materials, from recycled plastics. (so it's technically possible, and supply chains exist!!)<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
